Artist's Statement

Since my childhood from Cambria along the Central Coast of California, I had a natural affinity toward the arts, and a highly tuned visual awareness, I was fortunate to work side by side with some exceptional artists through the years. They encouraged me and became the mentors who showed me the way to celebrate my talent, which has, in turn, led me to numerous awards.

In practice, my skills have evolved from experimentation in media including bronze, wood carving, and stained glass. But my favorite is mixed media clay, and for the past ten years, I have chosen to capture in this medium my fascination for the expressive emotional character that is revealed through the eyes of our loving companions, our pets at home.

This is joyful work for me. I am inspired by all the animals that I have loved and the special way animals show their love in return.

I am richly rewarded by the enthusiastic response of my friends and clients for whom I have captured this radiant energy and personality of their "very best friends". The companions I create reflect a gracious and happy testimonial to the unconditional love that we sometimes take for granted. I look forward to creating one for you.
